2 Corinthians 4:6* Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
7* But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves.
This painting was inspired by a vision I had in 2007 when I was asked to minister on my harp for a church in another state. Everything was going wrong that day, but, as I prayed for God’s guidance, I asked him to use me as a vessel for his glory, even though I felt like a broken vessel instead of a useful one. Immediately I saw a broken vase full of holes and cracks. God’s light was shining so brightly through the holes and cracks that I could barely see the vase. He is not looking for our “perfection”, but a humble and willing heart to share His compassion and love with others. In our weakness, He is made strong.
